James Lee brings a combination of maritime expertise, technical depth, and proven leadership to deliver a premier international customer experience for yacht clients. As an Excess owner, he offers first-hand knowledge of the brand alongside decades of sailing and instructional experience.

James is an American Sailing Association and US Sailing Instructor, a former offshore sailing instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy, and an accomplished racer and cruiser of both monohulls and multihulls. He is also a US Sailing Safety-at-Sea presenter and an ABYC Master Technician.

A retired U.S. Navy Captain and USCG Master, James previously served on the Naval Academy's engineering faculty and as Commodore of King Harbor Yacht Club. He holds advanced degrees and professional certificates from Stanford University, MIT, and USC.

James is passionate about providing yacht clients at every level with expert technical advocacy and a safety-first approach on the water.

David Château brings a truly international perspective and deep hands-on sailing expertise to his work as a California-based yacht professional. Born and raised in France, David has lived in multiple countries and built his career around a lifelong connection to the sea.

As a yacht broker and experienced sailor, he has logged nearly 15,000 nautical miles, including offshore passages, and has worked across dozens of different vessels—particularly multihulls. He holds a Master's Degree in International Management, a USCG 200-Ton Master license, and is an ASA-certified sailing instructor.

With a rare combination of global experience, technical knowledge, and practical time on the water, David is dedicated to helping clients choose the right yacht with confidence, clarity, and trusted real-world insight.
